There's something about cousins. I want my kids to be close to their cousins. My sister lives in Georgia, my brother about an hour from where I live now...and soon, we'll be living in Colorado. Makes for a lot of traveling.
In spite of the distance, my sister and I are still really close, so I guess I'm not too worried about being able to maintain long distance relationships. After seeing my kids with their cousins this past week, I'm not too worried about them either.
Here's the whole gain minus the two oldest (teenagers) who were busy doing teenager-y things...
It was hot (though it wasn't as hot as Georgia...) so we did lots of water-things.
The splash park in Byron was a highlight for sure. We loved this place. Once you pay your $3, you get to do anything you want--the playground, mini golf, splash pad, batting cages, skate park...if you're local, it's a must!
Sam was NOT sure about this whole splashing water thing.
The other kids, however, had no problem jumping in!
whoops. How'd that get in there? You weren't supposed to see that!
This is monumental, this next shot. Sam's first ever sandwich. That rice bread is so thick, I just never made sandwiches with it. But this PB&J was a definite winner! We'll be revisiting that one again!
Once he got his pacifier, which I think he sneaked out of my purse, he ventured into the water with no problem. Hm. Do I see a connection here? Pacifier = happy.
And yes, I know he's 2.5 years old. Leave me alone.
After they had enough water, we went to the batting cages...
Don't they look like a gang of hooligans?
Sophia did surprisingly well. I'm hoping to get her in softball next year...in Colorado...
HUGE fun. We love hanging out with our cousins. Next time we see them will be Christmas (hopefully.)
I already miss them.
