My friend Shannan went public with THIS POST Sunday which personally scared me a little given that not only was Grant Show her #1 pick, but RUSH LIMBAUGH made her list. Let's all bow our heads in a moment of silence for our dear friend Shannan...
But I jokingly told Shannan I wanted to do my own list though "Six on Tuesday" doesn't have nearly the poetic ring that "Six on Sunday" has. Still, I'm pretty sure I can't come up with ten, so just pretend my title is pretty. Or something.
And in case you didn't click on Shannan's link above, you should know her list is all about celebrity crushes. I feel kind of strange listing out celebrities that make my heart pitter-patter given that my post yesterday was all about my husband, but I IM'd him to make sure he didn't mind me posting this.
He didn't. He's cool like that.
So, without further delay...
My list. Number one is not even up for grabs. Not even debatable.
#1. Robert Downey Jr.
It started when I saw Chaplin and my love for RDJ has only grown. I'm especially fond of "Larry" in Ally McBeal, more specifically, the episode where he sings the Joni Mitchell song "Wish I had a river I could skate away on" (and yes, I know that's not the title, but what is it?) I guess I'm a sucker for an exceptionally talented actor/musician who can play the piano, has brown eyes and dark hair... hmmm...
I find myself worried about RDJ, though, like in Sherlock Holmes when he puffs on that pipe, my only thought was "gosh, he really looks like he's enjoying that...and inhaling...and is that going to cost him his sobriety?"
#2. James McAvoy
Not so much when he looks like he hasn't showered in four days, and not really when he's wearing hooves... more like this, or in Becoming Jane. Even in Penelope. (Have you seen that? I love that movie.) Adam had to remind me of this one, but he's high on my list. I love good old James. Plus, he's British, so you know. An accent always helps.
#3. Simon Baker
I'm especially fond of Simon in Something New (I'm a sucker for a chick flick--and an inter-racial chick flick does my heart good...) and I even kind of love him in The Devil Wears Prada, even though maybe I'm not supposed to. Incidentally, he has an accent too. Pattern?
I also think it's funny he sorta resembles my #4...
#4. Scott Speedman
In case you're wondering, I didn't even have to look up his picture. I already had this one saved on my computer, so maybe that tells you a little something. Truly, it's not Scott Speedman I love, it's Ben Covington. More specifically...it's Ben and Felicity. (Back off, Noel.) Pretty much every "hero" I've written in my novels bears a strong resemblance to Scott Speedman. Be still, my ever-lovin' heart...

#5. Sean Astin in The Goonies
First biggest crush ever. I think I wrote him fan mail. (For real.) I LOVED Sean Astin. Maybe it was the inhaler. We connected on an asthmatic level. And, of course, you know my appreciation and deep love for Hobbits, so even as he got older (and pudgier) I still love my Sean. That scene at the end of Lord of the Rings...when he says "I can't carry the ring, Mr. Frodo...but I can carry you..."
Oh my. Chills. Pretty great acting there, folks.
#6. Alex O'Laughlin
Another accented list-topper. He's Australian, though you'd never know it from watching Hawaii 5-0. This guy is just handsome. Like, classically handsome. Don't you think? I'd honestly never seen him before the Hawaii 5-0 remake, but someone put him in a movie, already!
My list wouldn't be complete without a few Honorable Mentions...
HM #1: Will Estes.
J.J. Pryor on the short-lived and well-loved American Dreams (I'm still holding out for some closure there.) Now he's on Blue Bloods, starring Magnum P.I. and I think he's stellar. And cute.

Zac Efron.
What can I say? First Troy Bolton... then Link in Hairspray... I like singers. It's a curse!
