I don't think I've ever done a post about all the things I'm loving right now. There are quite a few things that make me happy on any given day, but on this day, here are the things that make the top of the list.
1. Finishing up edits on my first novel.
This book is the first in a three book series for Guideposts and yes, I still have LOTS of work to do before all three are done! I'm excited because the book takes so many things I love and melds them together. It's a story about friendship in a beach town, complete with clapboard cottages a big scrapbook full of memories right at the heart of it all. Can't think of a better way to infuse everything I love into one story! Anyway, that's how I'm spending my days. And seeing the story evolve like I have...it's just pretty darn exciting!
2. Flying Lessons, the Whole Shebang
This e-book, by Kelly Rae Roberts, has been challenging and inspiring me in so many ways. The most ironic thing is that after I posted yesterday (which was actually Wednesday at midnight,) I discovered "Who Does She Think She Is" is not just a question that pelts me in the back of my mind when I think of doing something new...it's something lots of people struggle with. So many that they've made a documentary. Which tells me two things. 1. I'm not alone. 2. Sometimes we, as artists really do have the same ideas at the same time. (Other times, people steal ideas. That's just not cool.)
3.Yep. I'm a little late to the game.
Thanks to my friend Shannan, Friday Night Lights has been on my mind. When I hit the Target Clearance aisle earlier this week and saw Seasons 1 & 2 for $15, I knew I had to snatch them up. I watched two episodes yesterday and discovered I had seen the first one before, but for some reason, I didn't keep watching. So, I'm hooked now. And I don't even like football.
4. White Peach Oolong Tea
I didn't make new year's resolutions this year. Truth be told, I sort of feel like I'm living one big, fat resolution by living in Colorado, so it didn't seem appropriate to add more to my list. But, that doesn't mean some changes weren't in order after the gorge-fest that was Christmas.
I'm following a pretty restricted diet right now, and part of that is that I don't eat or drink any sugar. For me, that means no creamer (because I have to have non-dairy creamer) which means no coffee. A good way to help the headaches and still have something warm in my hands in the morning (like right now) is to drink this tea sweetened with Stevia. It's been wonderful until I feel I can go back to the regular coffee.
5. Soul Restoration
I'm participating in Melody's e-course Soul Restoration so far, I'm really enjoying it. They've obviously put a TON of work into this class, and for people (like me) who can't attend Brave Girls Camp, it's a great alternative. I'm hoping to spend the evening working on the first two projects. I'm pretty sure Mel is offering it again in the spring, so if you didn't get into it this time, you'll have another chance!
6. Banana Paper Notebooks

I picked these little guys up and let them sit awhile before I figured out what to do with them. I'm using one for all the notes I'm taking for Kelly Rae's class, recording my creative dreams, my fears, inspiring quotes and important reminders to myself... I LOVE it. I'm planning to use another one for Soul Restoration. I've always been a notebook freak and these little guys are perfect!
