Working on our house has been an exercise in decision-making, and for someone as indecisive as I am, that's been pretty eye-opening. I hate making decisions. And certain decisions weigh on me more than others.
What couch to buy.
What hardwood floor to settle on.
And lately...what to do with our bedroom.
We've never painted our bedroom. It's always been that room in the house that's a total catch-all. And yes, I've read that your room should be a safe haven, a place of peace. Let's just say when you're surrounded by mounds of laundry it's hard to find serenity.
So. I've been perusing possibilities...starting with the bedding...and to be honest, I think I've only confused myself.
I started at Pottery Barn bedding sets, which is always my favorite...but this is pretty much the only thing there right now that I like...
...and I like it even better when it's shown in with this group...which obviously requires loads of riches I don't have...
I've also taken an incredible liking to the color gray...but we've got gray in the living room, so do I want it in our room too? This one, from West Elm, is so pretty, though, don't you think?
...then I'm sidetracked because I see a red one, and red always seems to call my name....
...and then it's back to gray...which I decide I like even better than the other gray one...and pretty much plan to buy it as soon as I get the Adam-okay.
...and really, aren't these the prettiest pillows?
Then something leads me to Urban Outfitters, which is a store that does not reflect my personality at all. I hate to say that because I wish I was super trendy and funky and bohemian chic, but I have to face facts, ma'am.
Still...the bold colors in this comforter really speak to me...
...until I see that deer/elk/antelope (what is that thing?) there in the lower left and I know this probably isn't for me...
Anthropologie has so many beautiful things...like this one...
...which is beautifully understated. And this one...
...which is more the kind of bold I could go for.
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect bedding, but it's fun to be inspired along the way. Where else should I look? Do you have some great sites or stores that carry bedding? What about colors...is your bedroom calm and serene or bold and fun??
Help a sister out! I could use the inspiration!
