Our new house has a great yard. And with all the rain we've had lately, the grass had gotten out of control--especially since we didn't have a lawn mower at the new place. When we finally figured out a way to transport ours, the results were spectacular.
As in. "Holy darn, that grass was long."
Yeah. It was 80's style out of control.
Sigh. Remember when Tony Danza was cool?
Anyway, we love the yard. It's bigger than what we have here, fenced in and has some beautiful flowers that are popping up all over the place.
Plus, I often look out the window and see this:
I won't tell you what else I see out there...
Ok, I will. I'm a sharer.
Homeboy got used to peeing in the back yard when the house was winterized. I've found him out there several times, obviously unaware the toilets have been turned back on.
We'll get there.
Anyway, Sam entertains himself pretty well (both with the outdoor urination and with his imagination...) Which is a good thing because typically, my older kids aren't interested in playing with him. When they are, though, it's one of my all-time favorite things. Ever.
Sometimes Ethan is incredibly patient with Sam. We recently had a discussion about not being mean to him and Ethan said "Well, Sophia's mean to me." (As if that justifies it.)
I explained the whole "then you should understand how it feels. You don't want to make someone else feel that way" thing. I'm still waiting to see if some of that little talk sunk in.
With the boys, I can always count on things to go to the Avenue of Silly with a stop off at Loopy Lane.
I kinda love that about them. And I love that they're acting like brothers should...I can already see their relationship is going to be one of those long-lasting kinds.
Sam's looking rather Hobbity again, don't you think?
This is what he has to say to that:
Then, of course, there's Ethan doing his best Predator impression:
Uber weird.
My days are filled with painting, but all the while, I feel like I'm spending this amazing quality time with my kids. Non-distracted and often one-on-one...I'm loving it.
I'm not loving painting trim anymore, however...which leaves me wondering Who's idea was this?
To which, of course, my brain responds: "Yours, you moron."
Remind me not to do this again!
Tonight, we're heading off to see:
(I think)...and I can't wait!
What are your plans for the weekend??
