My dad makes the most amazing things.
He has a wood shop and the things that come out of that building amaze me. It's completely foreign to me how someone can be creative with wood, but he is... even though he'll tell you he's not.
He makes the most beautiful jewelry boxes...
I think Sophia has conned him into making her, like four.
So far I have zero.
A little unfair, I'd say...
He's made tables (they weigh upwards of 3,000 pounds.) A buffet for their kitchen and, in my opinion, the coolest thing: beds for my boys.
This is Ethan's:
It also weighs 3,000 pounds.
But isn't it beautiful?
I don't have a photo of Sam's and he's laying in it right now, so I don't DARE go up there and disrupt the bedtime routine, but his has drawers underneath, which eliminates the need for a dresser.
Considering how small his new room is, this is a good thing. And the bed is just incredible. They'll cherish those forever.
I sort of accidentally stumbled upon something kind of awesome and I've tried to email the pictures to my dad twice now and it's not going through, so I'm turning to blogland to show him (and you) what I'm dying to see in my kitchen...
Not the table...the shelves...
How cool is that? I love the castors.
And I love that it's got personality. And it's not too deep...which is important since my kitchen/dining area isn't very big.
I absolutely love it. I have no idea if it would look right in my space, but they say to fill your house with things you love, right?
Well, this? I love. Its price tag? Not so much.
What do you think, daddy? Pretty easy for a genius like you, no? :)
