Two years ago, our friends Illinois Jon and Jenn gave us a little jar of homemade goodness with their Christmas card. As pastors, we got really sweet gifts and goodies and it was always so nice to see Adam's desk piled with love.
But there was something special about this jar of sweetness. And by special, I mean "addictive." So addictive, that Jenn told me its unofficial name was "Christmas Crack." I understand why having consumed that entire jar myself over the course of a few days. Or maybe just one day.
My good friend, Shannan also has a version of Christmas crack, but Jenn's is different...and SO super easy if you happen to need a quick treat to bring with you to a holiday gathering or just to have on your desk to tempt you. I like to use it as a rewards system. "Yay, I wrote 1,000 words, I get Christmas Crack..."
It's surpringly motivational.
Feast your eyes:
What you need:
- 1 bag Pretzels
- 5 cups Cheerios (or comparable cereal)
- 5 cups Rice Chex
- 1 lb. bag M&M's
- Canister of Peanuts or Mixed Nuts
- 2 bags of white chocolate chips
- 3 Tbs. oil
Melt 2 bags of white chocolate chips with oil in the microwave for 1 minute then mix. Heat in 30 sec. increments until the choco is melted. Then pour over Chex, Cheerios, Nuts, M & Ms and pretzels.
Stir it up and then lay out on wax paper.
Chill for 20 minutes and Enjoy!
This is a totally addictive, but wonderfully simple road trip snack too.
I also made a Gluten Free version for Sam, using GF Pretzels and GF cereal. It was a huge hit!
I'm on the road for Christmas, and my blogging may be sporadic, but have a wonderful holiday!!
