You may or may not know that my daughter, Sophia is a HUGE bookworm. She reads faster than I do.
Which, actually isn't all that impressive come to think of it.
She is always reading...so reading assignments are not a big deal for her.
Usually.
Recently, at school, she picked "The Last Battle" by C.S. Lewis to read and write a report on. She's in bed now (reading) and I happened to glance down at her report here on my desk.
I thought it was my duty to post it here for your information.
Because it's just that informative.
And because someday you may need to arm yourself with an 11-year-old's opinion on this, the final book (I think?) in the Narnia series.
So without further ado, I give you...
A Book Review of "The Last Battle" by C.S. Lewis.
As written by Sophia Walsh
"To start things off, 'The Last Battle' was a terrible book. First, there was no action! When I chose this book, I had HIGH (with a little upwards facing arrow icon) expectations for it. Those other books set the bar high!
I tried to find the good parts in it, but I only found a few. Also, the storyline was not only slow, but hard to follow. This book was very boring, weird, hard to follow and pretty much stupid.
I would NOT recommend this book to ANY of my friends. First, most of my friends have already read it. I'm pretty sure most of them would NOT read it again. Last, all my friends who haven't read it, would H-A-T-E hate it!
Most of my friends have strong opinions so if I recommended it, I may get texts that say, "You like THIS?!" :) (she actually drew the icon for the smiley face)
If you haven't concluded that I absolutely positivley H-A-T-E-D this book, you can conclude that now."
***
It should be said that as she wrote the last paragraph, her pencil was furiously flying (and jabbing) across the page. She wrote with so much hatred, er, passion.
I kind of feel bad for old C.S. right now...but what can I say? Can't argue with that kind of decisiveness, right?
I hope her teacher has a sense of humor.
