One of the greatest parts of being on a creative journey is discovering like-minded people who are on creative journeys of their own...
I find that there is a whole network of creatives out there who are all about encouraging and supporting and just generally being amazing. Over the next couple of weeks, I get to share what happens when these kinds of wonderful creatives are willing to lend their creative gifts to enhance yours, because that, my friends, is when the magic happens.
A few months ago, my editors and I were talking about Paper Hearts, and the idea of using your handwriting or your handmade hearts as not only encouragement, but as art.
When I was in grade school, I found myself admiring my cousin Nikki's handwriting so much so that one night, before bed, I actually prayed that God would give me beautiful handwriting.
I like my handwriting okay, but there are some seriously talented artists out there doing amazing things that include handwriting. Others seem to focus on unique ways to highlight words or phrases.
I thought it would be fun to reach out to some of my favorite artists and ask them to create a Paper Hearts inspired piece just for YOU. There are number of themes and verses and quotes in the book, and some of them are worth hanging on the wall. Plus, these girls are absolutely incredible so you want to know them just for all the cool stuff they're doing too!
First up, my super talented, crazy awesome friend Danielle Donaldson. Like me, Danielle used to be pretty heavily involved in scrapbooking. Her creativity and artistic talent will blow you away!
For her Paper Hearts printable, Danielle chose the quote "Ask for what you need."
It's a lesson I myself am still learning, especially this past year, and both Abigail and Jacob had to learn it in their Paper Hearts' journeys as well.
When Danielle's printable arrived in my inbox, I literally gasped. I've already framed it and hung it on the wall at The Studio.
Isn't it stunning?
The best part is you can download it and print it out for yourself! And it's FREE! :)
All you have to do is click Download Paper Hearts Printable_Danielle Donaldson and this beauty can be yours. I recommend printing it on semi-glossy photo paper and then framing it with a mat.
But what's so great about it is, you can print it and frame it (or not) however you want!
And, of course, I would LOVE for you to get your own copy of Paper Hearts and let me know what you think! :)
I hope you'll come back for a new, swoony printable each day this week and a super fun giveaway Friday!
Danielle Donaldson is a mixed-media illustrator, teacher and author. She is always scheming up new ways to infuse her love of watercolors and other mediums with as much color as possible. Danielle's art always tells a story without words through her use of color, depth and light. Some say it’s whimsical; she says its fanciful with a smidge of sassy. Currently, Danielle is working on her book, creativeGIRL: Mixed-media Projects for an Artful Life. She is also preparing for colorFULL workshops and retreats, and imagining new pieces in her head while finding time to put them on paper.
